KEPASS 1st WORKSHOP FOR TEACHERS - Jan. 2014

KEPASS workshop for teachers of the accredited schools

Mostar (BiH), 21-22 January 2014

In the context of the project KEPASS-Knowledge Exchange Programme of the Adriatic School System, the workshop for teachers of the accredited schools took place in Mostar (Bosnia Herzegovina) on the 21st and 22nd of January 2014. In its first year of activity, KEPASS managed to create a network of selected schools in Albania, Bosnia Herzegovina, Croatia, Italy, Montenegro and Slovenia, that will implement a pilot project of student mobility in the Adriatic area. The preparation activities are currently going on and, after the workshop for principals (Portorose, 2-3 December 2013) this event represents the second important step of a process that aims to achieve a higher level of integration among the schools.
During this two-day event, the teachers of the accredited schools had the possibility to establish direct contact and discuss the integration of curricula and the mutual recognition of competences acquired by the students. Moreover, the teachers worked jointly on the creation and definition of international modules that will represent the common didactic structure to provide students with new and cross-cultural content.
The workshop in Mostar will be followed by a second workshop that will be held in April 2014, in Montenegro. In the meantime, the partners will support the teachers in comparing and adapting different curricula and will assist the school in finding the best solutions for the hosting of the students who will start the mobility programme in September 2014.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Education Science Culture and Sport of the Hercegovina-Neretva Canton, under the coordination of the lead partner, the Autonomous Region Friuli Venezia Giulia, and with the collaboration of facilitators from UWC Adriatic and UWC Mostar. The event is an important step towards finalizing the student exchanges.
