KEPASS WORKSHOP FOR PRINCIPALS - Dec. 2013

KEPASS WORKSHOP FOR PRINCIPALS - Dec. 2013

KEPASS workshop for principals of the accredited schools

Portorose (SLO), 2-3 December 2013

In the context of the project KEPASS-Knowledge Exchange Programme of the Adriatic School System, the workshop for principals of the accredited schools took place in Portorož (Slovenia) on the 2nd and 3rd of December 2013. In its first year of activity, KEPASS managed to create a network of selected schools in Albania, Bosnia Herzegovina, Croatia, Italy, Montenegro and Slovenia, that will implement a pilot project of student mobility in the Adriatic area. The preparation activities are currently going on and the workshop represents the first moment where all principals worked together in a cooperative way.

KEPASS aims to integrate the Adriatic school systems and to create opportunities for student mobility. In a globalized and competitive world, thanks to KEPASS, students will have the possibility to increase their competencies and to live a life experience with an incredible transformation in terms of flexibility, cultural enhancement and open-mindedness. Several topics were discussed during this fruitful two-day event, such as the aspects of tutorship and pastoral care, the organization of the logistic and administrative activities, and the recognition of credits. In fact, as the integration of different Adriatic school systems is one of the KEPASS goals, the schools and the project partnership will work on the creation of some common international modules to be added to the normal curricula used in the schools.
The event was organized by the National Education Institute of the Republic of Slovenia, under the coordination of the lead partner, the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia. The workshop represents the first important step in a process that will continue with two workshops for teachers, where the partners and the schools will create a set of international didactic modules and will define all the aspects related to hosting students and to the organization of the curricular and extra-curricular activities.
