KEPASS MEETING - Sept. 2013

KEPASS MEETING - Sept. 2013

KEPASS meeting and welcome presentation of  UWC Adriatic

Duino, 24th–25th  September 2013

In the context of the project KEPASS – Knowledge Exchange Program for the Adriatic School System, the 4th project meeting will be held on the 24th and 25th of September 2013, at the UWC Adriatic premise, in Duino.
KEPASS is a project co-founded by the European Union, under the IPA Cross Border Cooperation Programme, and aims to integrate the Adriatic School System for a more competitive secondary education and to create opportunities for students’ mobility. The partnership is composed by institutions and authorities active in the field of the secondary school education, coming from Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia Herzegovina, Montenegro and Albania, and coordinated by the lead partner Autonomous Region Friuli Venezia Giulia.
The project started officially in September 2012. During its first year of activity, meaningful results have been achieved: the establishment of the criteria for the accreditation of the schools and the launch of the first call in order to identify the schools and institutes that respect the requirements and conditions for the participation to the KEPASS program. At the end of the first accreditation phase, a group of schools in each project country has been identified for hosting students aged 17/18 years, that will have the possibility to spend a quarter abroad and get in contact with new cultures, experience different teaching approaches, acquire new competences and live an important life experience.
During the project meeting, the partners will work jointly to the definition and organization of future activities in preparation of the school exchanges. Principals and teachers will be involved in the next stage of the project activities in order to create the best conditions for the success of the KEPASS program and the fulfillment of its objectives.
On the occasion of the meeting, the United World College of the Adriatic will prepare a welcome presentation, where representatives of students will speak about their experience. The meeting will be an occasion to present the College and its activities directly through the words of its students. The welcome presentation will be, thus, an opportunity to get in contact with its reality and transmit the positive atmosphere of a multicultural and international environment.
